Barbados Tourism
Barbados is a beautiful island in the Caribbean that is located to the north east of Venezuela. The island which is 34 km long and 22 km wide, is spread over an area of 430 sq km. Barbados was under the British rule for more than 300 years and it attained independence in 1966. Due to the island’s long association with the British, you will find a lot of British influence. Bridgetown, which is the capital of Barbados, is a modern and well-developed city. About 70% of the population are descendents of African origin, who had been brought here as slaves. It is for this reason that you will find a blend of African and British cultures in Barbados which is very much evident from the art and craft, food, music, and literature here.
