There are two race courses in Dubai: the Nad al Sheba Racecourse and the Jebel Ali Racecourse. The Nad al Sheba has a dirt track that has three chutes. The 2000 metre chute is the biggest and most well-equipped one, which is fitted with the latest equipment to protect it from any possible damage cause by strong winds and showers. This well maintained tract is particularly used only for the Dubai World Cup. The Turf track is 2200 meters long and is covered with United States grass. Rye is planted in winters to add color to the turf. Three races are held here every year from November to March, namely the Winter Racing Challenge, the Dubai International Racing Carnival, and the Dubai World Cup.
Good seating arrangements are made available around the Dubai horse racing tracks for the public and the seating areas are provided with about 100 monitors to enable a better view for everyone. There is adequate parking for visitors with a designated car park for coaches.
If you are out there to watch the horses in action, it does not mean that you have to go hungry. Visit the International Village for food and entertainment. Entry to the Village is through tickets and it is open from 2.00 pm onwards. You will find a live band in attendance till midnight.
